US oil product exports hit record 8.2 million barrels per day
Investing.com -- US exports of oil products surged to an all-time high of 8.2 million barrels per day last week, according to data released Wednesday by the US Energy Information Administration.
The record shipments were propelled by strong demand for US diesel, with exports of the fuel reaching their highest level on record. The US has emerged as a critical supplier of fuels including diesel, jet fuel, and gasoline to global markets.
Countries are grappling with a supply shortage following the near closure of the Strait of Hormuz, which has disrupted traditional fuel supply routes and increased reliance on US exports.
