DICK'S Sporting Goods (NYSE: DKS) and Synchrony (NYSE: SYF) announced the relaunch of their credit card program, offering cardholders 10% back in rewards on qualifying purchases at DICK'S stores.
The program features two products: the DICK'S Credit Card, which can be used exclusively at DICK'S and its affiliated stores including Golf Galaxy and Public Lands, and the DICK'S Mastercard, which can be used anywhere Mastercard is accepted. The Mastercard also earns 1% back in rewards on purchases outside DICK'S stores.
New cardholders receive a $30 bonus reward after opening and using their card at participating stores, plus automatic Gold status in DICK'S ScoreCard loyalty program. Both cards remain integrated with the retailer's existing loyalty program.
"Our role at Synchrony is to turn everyday purchases into real value for consumers, and this relaunch does exactly that for DICK'S athletes," said Darrell Owens, EVP and CEO of Lifestyle at Synchrony.
DICK'S CFO Navdeep Gupta stated that the 10% rewards rate represents one way the company is enhancing the shopping experience and evolving its credit offering, building on more than 20 years of partnership with Synchrony.
Existing cardholders will automatically carry over their accounts and ScoreCard rewards balances to the new program. The cards can be used at DICK'S Sporting Goods, DICK'S House of Sport, Golf Galaxy, Golf Galaxy Performance Center, Public Lands and Going Going Gone stores.
Applications are available in-store at participating locations or online. The program requires a ScoreCard account to apply and earn points, with rewards given in $10 increments where 300 points equals a $10 reward.
