E-Power adds AI power supply team with NVIDIA experience
E-Power Inc. (NASDAQ: EPOW) announced its majority-owned subsidiary has hired a technical team that specializes in AI power supply units and has collaborated with NVIDIA since late 2024 on power density and liquid cooling solutions.
The team is led by an individual with over 20 years in the power supply industry who previously developed power platforms for telecommunications companies and managed production of electric vehicle, energy storage and server power solutions. Team members include a vice president of research and development with experience at Artesyn and Flex, along with production management personnel from global power companies.
The team has developed power architecture that the company states achieves high energy density among available market products. The architecture uses what the company calls "Power Smoothing" to manage energy fluctuations and includes an "Energy Bank" concept utilizing electrolytic capacitors for energy buffering in high-density server racks.
For liquid cooling applications, the team has created fanless power architecture and provided prototypes to Meta, Google and NVIDIA, according to the press release. The subsidiary offers 16kW AC modules and 50kW DC modules with stated efficiencies of 98% and 99% respectively. For 800V MGX systems, the company provides liquid-cooled Power Shelf solutions with Capacitor Backup Units.
E-Power's subsidiary plans to launch financing to transition from prototypes to mass production. The funds will purchase laboratory equipment, expand engineering staff and provide working capital for the 800VDC microgrid power market.
E-Power, headquartered in Zibo, China, manufactures graphite anode material for lithium-ion batteries through a joint venture and operates a 50,000-ton capacity facility in Guizhou Province.
