Gilat Satellite Networks Ltd. (NASDAQ: GILT) announced it received a multimillion-dollar order from Nelco, a satellite communications service provider in India, according to a company press release. Deliveries are expected over the next 12 months.
Under the agreement, Nelco selected Gilat's SkyEdge IV hub platform to deploy a Ka-band service network in India using the GSAT-N2 Ka-band high throughput satellite. The deployment will provide connectivity across multiple segments including in-flight connectivity, cellular backhaul and enterprise connectivity in remote locations.
"Nelco's selection of SkyEdge IV reflects the platform's ability to support high-throughput satellite services with the flexibility required for diverse service requirements," said Ron Levin, President of Gilat's Commercial Division.
SkyEdge IV is described as Gilat's multi-orbit satellite ground system designed to support high-capacity broadband networks. The platform enables satellite operators to deploy and manage advanced high throughput satellite services.
Gilat Satellite Networks is a provider of satellite-based broadband communications with over 35 years of experience. The company develops satellite, ground, and space connectivity solutions for commercial and defense applications.
