Investing.com -- US officials and Alphabet (NASDAQ: GOOGL) CEO Sundar Pichai met on Thursday to address concerns about artificial intelligence capacity and the government's challenges in securing sufficient processing power for defense systems, according to the New York Times' DealBook.
The administration expressed concern that Anthropic lacks adequate computing resources and may need to limit use of Mythos, even for high-priority users. Officials worry the government could lose access to essential tools needed to patch its software systems.
Some of Google's AI processing chips, called TPUs, cannot be deployed in certain classified settings. The government is exploring options to expedite clearance processes for Google TPUs to address the computing shortage
