Corteva Inc. (NYSE: CTVA) announced that its planned spinoff company, previously called "SpinCo," will be named Vylor Inc. The agricultural company confirmed the separation remains scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2026.
Vylor will comprise Corteva's advanced seed and genetics business and will operate with more than 4,000 germplasm patents and more than 2,000 biotechnology patents. The new company will focus on hybrid wheat, gene editing technology, multi-disease resistance corn and next-generation biofuels.
"Vylor traces its roots back a century, to a single idea: that innovation could transform agriculture, and with it, the world," said Chuck Magro, who will serve as Vylor's CEO. "Powered by groundbreaking technology, elite germplasm and an advanced product portfolio, Vylor will be uniquely positioned to help solve some of the world's toughest challenges."
The company will inherit what Corteva describes as the largest seed production network globally and brands that hold top market positions in key crops across most regions where they operate. Vylor's portfolio will include the Pioneer, Brevant, Hogemeyer and Corteva brand lines.
The name Vylor derives from the word "valor" and the brand's logo incorporates a stylized "l" representing a chromosome structure. The company's color palette includes green, maroon and blue elements reflecting its heritage brands.
Corteva indicated the spinoff will allow both companies to focus on their respective strengths, with Vylor concentrating on seed and genetics innovation while exploring expansion opportunities in new row crops and related agricultural sectors.
