Regional banks outperform market as loan growth strengthens says Truist
Investing.com -- Regional banks are outperforming the broader market this year, while the largest banks have shown weaker performance, according to Truist.
As bank earnings season concludes and market attention shifts to other sectors, several trends have emerged in the banking industry. Loan growth is showing increased strength, according to the analysis.
Trust banks are experiencing what analysts describe as a renaissance period. Bank earnings estimates have tightened following a solid quarterly performance.
Bank merger and acquisition activity has remained subdued amid a turbulent macroeconomic environment. However, key indicators continue to point toward conditions that could support an eventual increase in deal activity, Truist noted.
The observations come after banks completed their quarterly earnings reports, providing a view of the sector's current trajectory through the ups and downs experienced in the market so far this year.
