W Hotels opens new resort in Sardinia, Italy

W Hotels announced the opening of W Sardinia – Poltu Quatu, marking the brand's debut on the Italian island of Sardinia. The property is located on Sardinia's northeast coast between Porto Cervo and Baia Sardinia, overlooking the Marina dell'Orso in Poltu Quatu village.

The resort features 157 guestrooms and suites designed by Meyer Davis studio and DE.TALES architecture firm. Guest amenities include TANIT marina-front seafood restaurant, W Lounge, WET Deck pool area, AWAY Spa, and FIT fitness center. Two penthouse suites offer private pools and full kitchens with panoramic coastline views.

"The opening of W Sardinia – Poltu Quatu marks an important milestone for W Hotels as we debut on the island of Sardinia and continue to deepen our presence across Italy," said George Fleck, Senior Vice President and Global Brand Leader for W Hotels. The brand currently operates W Rome and W Florence in Italy.

The property's design incorporates local Sardinian elements including works by regional artists and materials such as Sardinian Orosei marble. The hotel features sculptures by Sardinian artist Nicola Filia and ceramic works by various local artisans selected in collaboration with Kooness art studio.

Chef Antonio Bitetto leads the culinary program alongside Pastry Chef Fabrizio Fiorani. The hotel offers programming including artist residencies, culinary experiences featuring local ingredients, and wellness activities. Guests can access marina excursions through partnerships with Fjord 41 XL speedboats to explore the Mediterranean coastline and La Maddalena Archipelago.

W Hotels is part of Marriott International's (NASDAQ: MAR) portfolio and participates in the Marriott Bonvoy rewards program. The brand operates over 70 destinations worldwide.
