Teleflex Incorporated (NYSE: TFX) announced that Jason Weidman will become president and chief executive officer effective June 8, 2026. Weidman will succeed Stuart Randle, who has served as interim president and CEO since January 2026 and will remain on Teleflex's board of directors.
Weidman brings over 25 years of medical technology industry experience from Medtronic plc, where he worked for nearly two decades. His most recent roles included senior vice president and president of Coronary & Renal Denervation and senior vice president and president of Aortic, Peripheral and Venous divisions. At Medtronic, he oversaw multi-billion dollar revenue operating units and managed global expansion initiatives.
The appointment comes as Teleflex undergoes transformation following planned divestitures. The company intends to focus on interventional, critical care and high acuity hospital markets. Following the completion of sale transactions, Teleflex plans a $1 billion share buyback and $800 million debt paydown.
"Jason's medical technology expertise is closely aligned with our focused product portfolio, and his track record of driving growth, advancing product innovations and expanding global markets make him an ideal candidate to lead Teleflex's go-forward strategy," said Dr. Stephen Klasko, Teleflex's chairman of the board, according to the company's statement.
Weidman holds an MBA in Health Care Management from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, a master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University, and a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan. Prior to Medtronic, he worked at Thoratec Corporation.
