Euronet Worldwide Inc. (NASDAQ: EEFT) announced that board member Andrzej Olechowski died on April 25 at age 78.
Olechowski had served as a director since May 2002 and was nominated for re-election at the company's 2026 annual meeting. Following his death, he is no longer standing for re-election and the board has reduced the number of nominees for the meeting.
"Dr. Olechowski has been a consummate and highly knowledgeable member of our Board and provided me with valued counsel over many years," said Michael J. Brown, chairman, chief executive officer and president of Euronet. "He was a statesman and a gentleman, and we will miss his insight and contributions."
Olechowski worked in international finance with UNCTAD and the World Bank. He served as Poland's Minister of Finance, headed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and worked as economic advisor to President Lech Wałęsa.
The Leawood, Kansas-based payment processing company said Olechowski contributed to its growth and strategic direction over more than two decades of service on the board.
