Pitney Bowes Inc. (NYSE: PBI) received Provisional Authorization for Impact Level 4 from the U.S. Department of Defense for its SendPro 360 platform solutions, according to a company statement. The authorization enables DoD agencies and authorized defense contractors to use the cloud-based shipping and mailing platform while meeting DoD cybersecurity requirements.
The authorization, granted through the DoD Cloud Computing Security Requirements Guide process, validates that SendPro 360 meets controls required to process and store Controlled Unclassified Information and mission-sensitive data at Impact Level 4. The platform centralizes carrier management, automates shipping workflows and provides real-time visibility across distributed locations.
With the IL4 authorization, DoD agencies and contractors can use SendPro 360 to manage mailing and multi-carrier shipping across field offices, track inbound packages through integrated smart locker systems, and enhance tracking and reporting capabilities. The platform protects sensitive information within a secure cloud environment.
"Achieving IL4 Provisional Authorization reflects our continued investment in delivering secure, compliant solutions for the public sector," said Todd Everett, Executive Vice President and President of Sending Technology Solutions at Pitney Bowes.
Pitney Bowes has also achieved Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification 1.0 certification. The company previously received FedRAMP and GovRAMP authorizations for the SendPro 360 platform.
The Shelton, Connecticut-based company provides digital shipping solutions, mailing services and financial services to clients globally, serving more than 90 percent of the Fortune 500 according to the company.
