Quoin Pharmaceuticals Ltd. (NASDAQ: QNRX) announced plans to initiate several investigator-led clinical studies for its QRX009 topical rapamycin lotion across multiple rare disease indications, according to a company statement.
The company will begin with a study in Pachyonychia Congenita, a rare skin disease with no approved treatments, led by Professor Edel O'Toole of Queen Mary University of London. Quoin targets initiating this study in the third quarter of 2026.
Additional investigator-led studies are planned for Gorlin Syndrome and Tuberous Sclerosis Complex later in 2026. The company also expects to submit an Investigational New Drug Application to the FDA for QRX009 for another indication in the third quarter of 2026.
"We are very pleased to provide this important update for our QRX009 topical rapamycin programs," said Dr. Michael Myers, Chief Executive Officer. "The potential exists for QRX009 to be in active testing in four separate clinical indications before the end of 2026."
These developments complement Quoin's existing late-stage program in Netherton Syndrome and its Peeling Skin Syndrome program, for which the company targets an IND application in the second quarter of 2026.
Quoin previously announced achieving target loading concentrations of 4% and 5% for its proprietary lotion and dermal patch delivery systems. The company has established relationships with advocacy foundations including The PC Project and The Gorlin Syndrome Alliance.
The company focuses on developing therapeutic products for rare and orphan diseases through its platform products QRX003 and QRX009.
