Prilenia names Dr. Elisabeth Leiderman as chief financial officer
Prilenia Therapeutics B.V., a biopharmaceutical company focused on Huntington's disease and Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis treatments, announced the appointment of Elisabeth Leiderman as Chief Financial Officer.
Leiderman brings more than 20 years of finance and corporate development experience in the life sciences sector. She has previously served as CFO at multiple biotech companies including Dewpoint, Atsena and Decibel, leading fundraising efforts, strategic transactions and public offerings. She currently serves on the board of Autolus Therapeutics and previously served on Bluebird Bio's board.
Prior to her biotech roles, Leiderman held senior positions at investment banks including UBS, Credit Suisse and Nomura, where she co-founded their US healthcare investment banking group.
"Lis is a physician and neuroscientist by training, bringing a rare and exciting combination of scientific training, financial expertise, deal-making and strategic vision," said Dr. Michael R. Hayden, Chief Executive Officer of Prilenia Therapeutics.
Leiderman stated her initial focus will be managing the company's financial runway through Phase 3 study completion while preparing for potential commercialization. The company is conducting two Phase 3 studies for its drug pridopidine in HD and ALS patients.
Leiderman holds an MD with honors from Tel Aviv University, an MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and a BA in Neuroscience from the University of Pennsylvania.
Prilenia is a private Netherlands-incorporated biopharmaceutical company backed by life sciences investors, according to the company's press release.
