Zimmer Biomet names interim CFO as Upadhyay departs

Zimmer Biomet Holdings Inc. (NYSE: ZBH) announced that Chief Financial Officer Suketu Upadhyay will leave the company effective April 28 for a new professional opportunity. The medical technology company has named Paul Stellato, currently Controller and Chief Accounting Officer, as interim CFO while conducting an internal and external search for a permanent successor.
Upadhyay served as CFO and Executive Vice President of Finance, Operations and Supply Chain for seven years. Chairman, President and CEO Ivan Tornos expressed gratitude for Upadhyay's contributions and confidence in Stellato's ability to provide continuity during the transition.
Stellato brings more than 20 years of financial and investor relations experience to the role. He joined Zimmer Biomet in May 2022 and currently serves as Controller, Chief Accounting Officer and head of Corporate FP&A. Since joining the company, he has worked on capital allocation initiatives including acquisitions and the share repurchase program.
Before joining Zimmer Biomet, Stellato held multiple finance leadership roles at Xylem Inc., including Vice President of Finance for Global Business Services and Vice President, Controller and Chief Accounting Officer. He also spent eight years at ITT Corporation in various finance positions and began his career in public accounting with Andersen and Ernst & Young.
Stellato holds a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from Villanova University and a Master of Business Administration from New York University's Stern School of Business. He is also a certified public accountant.
