Investing.com -- Spotify is partnering with Peloton Interactive to launch a fitness category, making more than 1,400 Peloton classes available to Spotify Premium subscribers globally, the companies announced on Monday.
The classes will be embedded directly into Spotify's audio and video platform and include strength training, Pilates, barre, yoga, and meditation. The offering will be available across most of Spotify's global markets.
The partnership marks Spotify's first move into wellness as the company expands beyond music and podcasts. Spotify said more than 150 million fitness playlists are currently active globally, with nearly 70% of Premium users reporting they work out monthly.
"As we continue to forge a path deeper into wellness, our work with Spotify is just our latest move to expand our reach and capture new revenue streams through Peloton's unmatched experience, content and instruction," said Dion Camp Sanders, Peloton's chief commercial officer.
For Peloton, the partnership is part of its strategy to expand internationally and move beyond a hardware-focused business model.
Neither company disclosed the financial terms of the agreement.
