Booz Allen Hamilton (NYSE: BAH) announced its venture capital arm has made a strategic investment in NODA AI, an Austin-based company that develops autonomy orchestration technology for military applications.
NODA AI serves as an integration layer that enables military operators to coordinate autonomous systems across different platforms and providers. The company was selected as the sole orchestrator for the Department of Defense's Multi-domain Collaborative Autonomy program and continues evaluation work for several Defense Department programs.
The Series A investment comes as the Defense Department announced a $55 billion plan to fund autonomous capabilities including orchestration technology. Booz Allen Ventures, launched in 2022, focuses on investments in AI, defense technology, cybersecurity, and space companies.
"We are laser-focused on operationalizing autonomy for DoD," said Randy Yamada, a vice president within Booz Allen's Defense Technology Group. "NODA provides an important layer within the technology stack, and their capabilities will be increasingly important as autonomous platforms become pervasive throughout national security missions."
NODA AI CEO Philong Duong said the partnership with Booz Allen Ventures will accelerate the company's ability to deliver combat capabilities at scale. The company specializes in orchestrating heterogeneous, multi-domain autonomous systems.
Booz Allen Ventures tripled its fund to $300 million last year, building on investments across its portfolio companies. The venture arm makes strategic investments in early-stage startups focused on defense technology and related sectors.
The investment amount was not disclosed in the company's announcement.
