Ultra Clean Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: UCTT) announced that Clarence Granger will step down as Chairman of the Board effective May 22, 2026, and continue serving as a board member. The company has appointed Tom Edman, a current director, as Chairman upon his re-election at the annual meeting.
Granger joined Ultra Clean in 1996 and has served as Chairman since 2006. He also served as interim CEO in 2025, according to the company statement.
"Since joining UCT in 1996, he has been instrumental in leading the company and serving as Chairman since 2006," said James Xiao, CEO. "Clarence has been a constant force in shaping UCT's strategy and guiding the Company through multiple phases of growth and transformation."
Edman has served on Ultra Clean's board for the past decade. "I am honored to step into the role of Chairman and to work alongside the Board and management team to advance UCT's strategic priorities," Edman said in the company statement.
The transition represents a leadership change at the Hayward, California-based company, which develops and supplies critical subsystems and components primarily for the semiconductor industry. Ultra Clean operates through two divisions: Products, which offers integrated outsourced solutions for major subassemblies, and Services, which provides tool chamber parts cleaning and coating services.
The company stated that Granger will remain committed to supporting Ultra Clean's continued success in his ongoing board role.
