IsoEnergy Ltd. (NYSE American: ISOU) announced the continuation of drilling at its Flatiron Project in Utah's Henry Mountains uranium district. The company plans to complete seven additional surface rotary drill holes totaling 11,000 feet, with drilling expected to begin shortly after mobilization was completed.
The 2026 program follows three drill holes completed in late 2025 and targets uranium mineralization approximately seven miles northwest of IsoEnergy's Tony M uranium mine. The Flatiron Project spans 8,800 acres across 370 lode claims and two Utah state leases, making it one of the largest contiguous land positions in the Henry Mountain District, where approximately 1.4 million pounds of U₃O₈ has been produced.
The drilling targets the Salt Wash Member of the Morrison Formation, the primary uranium host unit in the district. Historical exploration by Plateau Resources in the early 1980s identified uranium mineralization in the area, but work ceased due to depressed uranium prices. IsoEnergy represents the first company to follow up on this historical work.
IsoEnergy completed the mining component of its bulk sample at the Tony M Mine, extracting approximately 2,100 tons of mineralized material. The company reported no injuries during the operation. The bulk sample allowed testing of operational procedures including health and safety protocols, ground control, ventilation, and grade control systems.
The company plans to deliver the material to Energy Fuels' White Mesa Mill for processing but is investigating ore sorting and upgrading technologies that demonstrated over 90% uranium recovery rates during 2025 testing. IsoEnergy expects to complete a Preliminary Economic Assessment incorporating bulk sample data before year-end.
"Restarting drilling at Flatiron and the completion of the Tony M Bulk Sample represent two important components of IsoEnergy's U.S. strategy," said CEO Philip Williams, according to the company's statement.
