Lululemon athletica inc. (NASDAQ: LULU) announced that Heidi O'Neill will become chief executive officer effective September 8, 2026. The company's board of directors unanimously approved O'Neill's appointment following a comprehensive search process.
O'Neill brings more than three decades of experience in performance apparel, footwear, and sport. She spent over 25 years at Nike Inc., most recently serving as President, Consumer, Product & Brand. During her tenure at Nike, she helped grow the company from a $9 billion business to a $45 billion global operation.
At Nike, O'Neill oversaw the global consumer and product engine, led operations across more than 170 countries, and held profit and loss responsibility. She also managed the company's direct-to-consumer and digital business, including retail stores, e-commerce, mobile applications, membership, and consumer data analytics.
O'Neill currently serves on the boards of directors of Spotify Technology, Hyatt Hotels, and Lithia & Driveway. She began her career at Foote, Cone & Belding and worked as Director of Marketing for the Dockers brand at Levi Strauss & Co.
Meghan Frank and André Maestrini will continue as interim co-CEOs until O'Neill joins the company in September. The executives plan to return to their previous senior leadership roles after the transition.
"Heidi is an inspiring leader and proven, consumer-driven brand strategist, with a rare ability to both imagine a new future for a brand and to create the structure and processes to deliver on that vision," said Marti Morfitt, Executive Chair of lululemon's Board of Directors.
O'Neill will be based in Vancouver and will join lululemon's board of directors upon assuming the CEO role.
