AutoZone, Inc. (NYSE: AZO) completed a full-stack migration to Google Cloud, exiting legacy data centers in under three years, the companies announced from Las Vegas.
The automotive aftermarket parts retailer transitioned most of its applications to Google Cloud and plans to use Google AI Cloud for enhanced system monitoring, accelerated development, and faster decision making. AutoZone is also in early stages of using Gemini Enterprise to automate high-volume tasks and improve productivity.
"Completing our cloud migration is a significant milestone, and our partnership with Google has been instrumental to this success. But it's not the finish line," said Michelle Borninkhof, senior vice president and chief information officer at AutoZone. "We are now looking to leverage Google AI Cloud to help us enhance system monitoring, accelerate development, and enable faster decision making."
Jose Gomes, vice president of Retail and Consumer Packaged Goods at Google Cloud, said AutoZone moved beyond modernizing infrastructure by transitioning to an agentic architecture to make use of its data and improve customer and employee experiences.
As of February 14, 2026, AutoZone operated 6,709 stores in the United States, 913 in Mexico and 152 in Brazil for a total of 7,774 locations. The company retails automotive replacement parts and accessories and provides commercial sales programs to repair facilities and fleet operators.
The announcement was made at Google's Cloud Next '26 conference as part of what the companies described as a strategic expansion of their partnership.
