The U.S. Department of Agriculture signed a $300 million Blanket Purchase Agreement with Palantir Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ: PLTR) to modernize how USDA delivers services to farmers through the National Farm Security Action Plan.
The agreement supports USDA's "One Farmer, One File" initiative, which aims to reduce administrative burdens for farmers accessing government services. The partnership will provide operational software to improve service delivery for farmers and government field staff.
Palantir's Landmark platform previously supported the rollout of the $11 billion Farmer Bridge Assistance Program in February. According to the announcement, the program broke USDA records for online farmer sign-ups within 62 minutes of opening, allowing farmers to enroll without visiting county offices and delivering over $4.4 billion to farmers in the first five days.
The platform enables farmers to report acreage through self-service digital tools rather than requiring visits to field offices. The system consolidates what the companies describe as fragmented legacy systems into a unified foundation.
"America depends on its farmers, and USDA is moving fast to give them the technology they need," said Ali Monfre, Federal Engineering Lead at Palantir.
USDA Chief Information Officer Sam Berry stated that the partnership aims to provide visibility and speed needed to safeguard food supply. "Our farmers sustain this nation, and modern tools help us support them with greater precision," Berry said.
The agreement advances two stated priorities: strengthening farm security as a national security imperative and accelerating program delivery across USDA's Farm Production and Conservation mission areas. The partnership is intended to provide USDA with capabilities to secure American farmland, enhance supply chain resilience, and protect agricultural programs from fraud and foreign influence.
