CGI Inc. (NYSE: GIB) announced an expanded partnership with OpenAI focused on deploying Codex technology across enterprise operations. The consulting firm joins a select group of partners with early access to OpenAI's capabilities.
CGI initially implemented Codex within software engineering but has since expanded its use across multiple roles. Tens of thousands of CGI engineers, experts and consultants now use OpenAI technologies, including Codex, to automate tasks and improve workflows.
The companies are collaborating with clients across government, public safety and commercial sectors. CGI's services include legacy code modernization, code review automation, vulnerability detection and application development using Codex.
"Codex is becoming a powerful workspace for managing agents across software development and business workflows," said Denise Dresser, Chief Revenue Officer at OpenAI. "CGI's deep expertise in large-scale software transformation enables enterprises to deploy Codex across areas like legacy code modernization, code review automation, vulnerability detection, and application development."
Dave Henderson, Chief Technology Officer at CGI, stated that "generating business outcomes from Agentic AI isn't just about tooling or adoption, it's about engineering, embedding and integrating agents at the core of how work is done and value is created across the organization."
The partnership will include global and regional innovation programs, training sessions and early access to new Codex releases. CGI reported CA$15.91 billion in revenue for fiscal 2025 and employs 94,000 consultants globally.
