ADTRAN Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: ADTN) announced that its service delivery gateway router portfolio received conditional approval from the FCC's Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau, exempting the platforms from Covered List restrictions through October 1, 2027.
The approval allows the company to continue shipments, authorizations and deployments of current and next-generation SDG platforms without interruption. ADTRAN stated it is among the first router manufacturers to achieve this designation under the FCC's national security review process.
The conditional approval covers ADTRAN's carrier-grade router portfolio used by service providers for broadband connectivity. The FCC's decision followed a review of the company's engineering practices, supply chain transparency and firmware integrity commitments.
"Achieving this approval reflects the strength of our long‑standing commitment to secure, trusted networking innovation," said Eric Presworsky, general manager of subscriber solutions at ADTRAN. The executive noted the company's 40-year history in networking and security-focused product development approach.
Robert Conger, general manager of strategy and solutions at ADTRAN, said the approval provides certainty for service providers' infrastructure planning. "Operators can move forward with current and next-generation SDG deployments without disruption, protecting rollout timelines and investment plans," Conger stated.
The exemption enables service providers to maintain deployment schedules and investment plans while navigating regulatory requirements. ADTRAN emphasized its US-based manufacturing capabilities and US-led software development as factors supporting the approval.
ADTRAN Holdings Inc. is a provider of networking and communications solutions for service providers, enterprises and government organizations. The company is also the majority shareholder of ADTRAN Networks SE, formerly ADVA Optical Networking SE.
