CPC Biotech, a unit of Dover Corporation (NYSE: DOV), launched AseptiQuik G PPSU HT Series connectors for biopharmaceutical processing applications involving high temperatures and chemicals.
The connectors are made of polyphenylsulfone (PPSU), a BPA-free material compatible with both gamma radiation and autoclave sterilization. The material can withstand pH levels from 2 to 12 and exposure to chemicals including sodium hydroxide, benzyl alcohol, and dimethyl sulfoxide commonly used in downstream processes such as chromatography and purification.
"Bioprocessors require robust components that offer broader chemical compatibility across the pH scale, along with the flexibility to support both gamma and autoclave sterilization," said Laura Schweitz, Product Manager at CPC Biotech.
The new connectors feature a gold-colored tab to distinguish them from previous AseptiQuik polycarbonate and PPSU products, which use blue, white, or purple tabs. The connectors maintain compatibility with other AseptiQuik products without requiring additional operator training.
The connectors can withstand autoclave temperatures up to 266°F (130°C) and are available in sizes for hose barbs of 1/4", 3/8", 1/2", and 3/4", as well as 3/4" sanitary fittings.
CPC Biotech manufactures connectors, pumps, and flow sensors for biopharmaceutical processing and is part of Pump Solutions Group, an operating company within Dover Corporation. Dover is a diversified manufacturer with annual revenue exceeding $8 billion and approximately 24,000 employees.
