Silo Pharma Inc. (NASDAQ: SILO) announced its positioning to advance psychedelic-based treatments following President Trump's executive order on April 18, 2026, directing federal agencies to accelerate research into psychedelic therapies for mental health conditions.
The biopharmaceutical company's lead program, SPC-15, is an intranasal treatment targeting post-traumatic stress disorder designed as a serotonin 4 receptor agonist. The treatment aims to provide prophylactic care for PTSD and stress-induced disorders through rapid nose-to-brain delivery.
The company is developing SPC-15 under a 505(b)(2) regulatory pathway and is preparing for investigational new drug engagement with the Food and Drug Administration. The program utilizes intellectual property licensed from Columbia University.
"Momentum at the national level around psychedelic therapeutics reflects what the science has been signaling for years—there is a critical need for new approaches to treating mental health conditions," said Eric Weisblum, chief executive officer of Silo Pharma. "We believe Silo is well positioned with SPC-15 and it broader CNS pipeline to potentially benefit from a more favorable regulatory and clinical environment."
The executive order targets research acceleration for psychedelic compounds in treating PTSD, depression, and anxiety. Silo Pharma's treatment uses an intranasal formulation designed for central nervous system delivery and focuses on nose-to-brain delivery platforms.
The company's portfolio includes additional programs such as SP-26 for fibromyalgia and chronic pain, along with preclinical assets targeting Alzheimer's disease. Silo Pharma describes itself as a developmental-stage biopharmaceutical and cryptocurrency treasury company.
