OPSWAT and Emerson (NYSE: EMR) announced a global strategic reseller agreement to integrate cybersecurity technologies for power and water industry customers. The partnership will incorporate OPSWAT's operational technology patch management capabilities into Emerson's Ovation Automation Platform.
Under the agreement, Emerson will integrate OPSWAT's patch management solutions designed for operational technology environments. The collaboration builds on existing security measures for the Ovation Platform through OPSWAT's MetaDefender Endpoint and My OPSWAT Central Management On-Premises technologies.
"Our customers need cybersecurity solutions designed specifically for operational technology—not adapted from IT," said Robert Yeager, President of Emerson's power and water solutions business. "Collaborating with OPSWAT enhances our ability to help operators protect their Ovation Automation Platform with a modern, OT appropriate approach to patch management."
The solution addresses cybersecurity challenges facing critical infrastructure operators, including power generation and water utilities, who face increasing cyber threats and regulatory pressure from unpatched vulnerabilities. OPSWAT's approach is designed for industrial environments that combine modern and legacy systems.
Benny Czarny, Founder and CEO of OPSWAT, stated that the partnership embeds a "prevention-first philosophy directly into one of the world's most trusted automation platforms."
Emerson operates the Ovation Automation Platform globally, with more than 800 sites currently using cybersecurity technologies designed for power, water, and wastewater industries. The new agreement expands an existing DeltaV Alliance agreement between the companies for OPSWAT's MetaDefender Kiosk and MetaDefender Unidirectional Security Gateway for the DeltaV Automation Platform.
The partnership reflects Emerson's strategy to collaborate with cybersecurity providers in response to evolving global regulations and the need for continuous vulnerability response.
