Willdan Group Inc. (NASDAQ: WLDN) has been awarded a $27 million, three-year contract with the New York City Mayor's Office of Climate & Environmental Justice to redesign and implement the NYC Accelerator program.

The program assists building owners and stakeholders in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and complying with Local Law 97, while advancing the city's sustainability and green jobs objectives, according to a company statement.

Willdan has partnered with eight local firms for the contract, including Blenderbox, Bright Power, Cadence OneFive, Kinetic Communities Consulting, LIFE3, Steven Winter Associates, TYTHEdesign, and Urban Green Council.

The redesign will shift the program's focus from building energy awareness to project implementation. This marks the first time Willdan has held this program contract.

Willdan is a provider of professional, technical, and consulting services to utilities, government agencies, and private industry. The company's services include electric grid solutions, energy efficiency and sustainability, energy policy planning, engineering and planning, and municipal financial consulting.
