Bausch Health Companies Inc. (NYSE: BHC) announced its dermatology business, Ortho Dermatologics, has made Biafine Skin Recovery Emulsion available for online ordering in the United States.
The French-developed skincare emulsion, originally introduced in 1971, is designed to support the skin's natural barrier function while maintaining hydration. The product is available through select online channels including Amazon and the Ortho Dermatologics Direct platform for dermatology practices.
"We are proud to offer dermatology practices and patients access to a formula that has earned the trust of both professionals and consumers for decades," said Tom Stern, Vice President and General Manager of the Ortho Dermatologics business.
Biafine is formulated as a lightweight emulsion for dry, sensitive, or stressed skin. The company states the product has been recognized by dermatologists and consumers for its texture and versatility in skincare routines. The formulation is marketed as gentle enough for sensitive skin and clinically proven to support the skin barrier.
Dermatology practices can provide the product through the Ortho Dermatologics Direct platform, which supports in-office access when recommended by a dermatologist as part of a skincare regimen. The product is offered in the United States as a cosmetic for skincare use.
Bausch Health is a global pharmaceutical company that develops, manufactures and markets products primarily in gastroenterology, hepatology, neuroscience, dermatology, dentistry, aesthetics, international pharmaceuticals and eye health. Ortho Dermatologics is described as one of the largest prescription and aesthetic dermatology businesses.
