Warner Music Group Corp. (NASDAQ: WMG) announced a minority investment in TuStreams, an independent music distribution platform focused on Música Mexicana, according to a company statement.
The partnership establishes Warner Music Group as the global distribution partner for TuStreams' catalog and future releases. The companies will collaborate on joint artist signings, artist development, and creative projects.
TuStreams, founded in 2019 by Tony Larios, operates as a digital distribution platform for independent artists, particularly in Latin music. The company's roster includes Jorge Medina, Panter Bélico, Gerardo Coronel, Cornelio Vega y Su Dinastia, and Anakin Larios. TuStreams has expanded beyond Música Mexicana to work with artists including Gloria Trevi and Ivy Queen.
"TuStreams is a force at the center of one of the most culturally significant movements in music today," said Alejandro Duque, President of Warner Music Latin America & ADA. "Música Mexicana is a global priority for us—it's one of the fastest-growing and most impactful genres worldwide."
TuStreams played a role in the early success of Grupo Firme and has since expanded into reggaeton and pop music. The platform allows artists to retain ownership of their intellectual property while providing distribution to major streaming services.
"Our artists now get the best of both worlds—they keep the independent hustle and culture that defines TuStreams, while gaining access to Warner's global infrastructure," said Larios.
The financial terms of the investment were not disclosed in the announcement.
