Remitly adds former Twitter CTO Adam Messinger to board of directors

Remitly Global Inc. (NASDAQ: RELY) appointed Adam Messinger to its board of directors, expanding the board from 10 to 11 members. Messinger will also join the board's Talent and Compensation Committee.
Messinger brings more than 20 years of software development and technical leadership experience. He previously served as chief technology officer at Twitter, where he oversaw engineering, product, and design teams. Before Twitter, he held leadership roles at Oracle, contributing to the development of the Java platform and enterprise technologies. He recently worked as a technology advisor to financial technology company Chime.
The company said Messinger also serves as a director at New Relic, providing public company board experience.
"Adam's experience as a public company director at New Relic, combined with his deep technical expertise and experience scaling world-class technologies, will be instrumental as we expand beyond global money movement to better serve our customers with a broader suite of financial services," said Sebastian Gunningham, chief executive officer.
Remitly operates a money transfer platform serving customers across more than 175 countries. The Seattle-based company has been expanding its services beyond remittances into other cross-border financial services for consumers and businesses.
