FirstEnergy names Jennifer Lawless as VP of enterprise learning

FirstEnergy Corp. (NYSE: FE) appointed Jennifer Lawless as Vice President, Enterprise Learning to lead the company's learning and development strategy, according to a press release.
Lawless will oversee implementation of FirstEnergy's enterprise learning and development strategy, focusing on leadership capabilities, learning technologies and workplace culture. She reports to Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer Karen McClendon.
Previously, Lawless served as Training Director at Exelon Utilities, where she managed training strategy for more than 42,000 employees and contractors. Her responsibilities included upgrading the learning management system, establishing a centralized training organization and developing leadership programs across multiple organizational levels.
Lawless holds a Master of Science in Education and a Bachelor of Science in Sociology and Secondary Social Studies Education from the State University of New York at Cortland. She maintains professional certifications including Certified Performance & Learning Professional and workplace assessment credentials.
"Jennifer brings extensive experience leading transformational learning and development initiatives in large, matrixed utility organizations," McClendon stated in the release.
FirstEnergy operates electric distribution companies serving more than 6 million customers across Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, West Virginia, Maryland and New York. The company's transmission subsidiaries operate approximately 24,000 miles of transmission lines connecting the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic regions.
