Aspen Aerogels reports incident at Rhode Island manufacturing facility

Aspen Aerogels, Inc. (NYSE: ASPN) confirmed an incident occurred on April 8, 2026, at its manufacturing facility in East Providence, Rhode Island.
Eleven employees were transported to local medical facilities for evaluation and all have since been released, according to the company's statement. The site is secure and the situation is under control.
The Northborough, Massachusetts-based company stated it is assessing the impact of the incident and has initiated a full investigation to determine the cause. Aspen said it is cooperating with local authorities.
The company manufactures aerogel technology products including PyroThin products for electric vehicle applications and Cryogel and Pyrogel products for energy infrastructure companies.
Aspen said it will provide further updates as warranted. The information was disclosed in a company press release.
