Teledyne provides multiple technologies for NASA's Artemis II mission

Teledyne Technologies Incorporated (NYSE: TDY) announced its participation in NASA's Artemis II mission, providing various technologies across multiple business units for the crewed lunar mission.

The company's contributions span from launch hardware to deep-space communications systems. Teledyne Brown Engineering designed and fabricated the 30-foot tall Launch Vehicle Stage Adapter that connects the vehicle's core stage to the Interim Cryogenic Propulsion Stage. Teledyne Reynolds manufactured spark igniters for the four RS-25 main stage engines.

For power systems, Teledyne Qioptiq supplied space-qualified coverglass to protect Orion's solar arrays from radiation and thermal cycling. The company stated it has delivered more than 30 million space-qualified components over five decades.

Communication infrastructure includes Teledyne Paradise Datacom's 800-watt S-band high-power indoor amplifiers installed at tracking sites across the United States, Europe, and Australia. Teledyne e2v contributed the EV12DS130 digital-to-analog converter for Orion's data link systems.

Additional components include small-signal radio frequency components from Teledyne RF & Microwave for communications and navigation within the Orion capsule. Teledyne FLIR Defense captured launch imagery using its Star SAFIRE 380X imaging system during flight demonstrations near Kennedy Space Center.
