Xoople, an AI data infrastructure company, and L3Harris Technologies (NYSE: LHX) announced a partnership to co-develop a satellite constellation designed for artificial intelligence applications, according to a company statement.
The project represents seven years of design and research and development work between the two companies. The constellation features optical and sensor technology intended to provide data for AI systems that require ground-truth information about physical changes on Earth.
The satellite system is designed to support what Xoople describes as "agentic workflows" where AI systems move from analysis to autonomous action. The company positions its infrastructure as serving enterprises and governments for applications including supply chain optimization, infrastructure management, risk assessment, disaster response, and security monitoring.
"Our customers in the AI era make decisions where even a 1% error is unacceptable, and they need a completely different kind of space asset, capable of monitoring the whole world in real time and ensuring the exquisite measurements that AI requires," said Fabrizio Pirondini, CEO of Xoople.
The companies describe the constellation as offering improvements in precision and speed compared to existing commercial Earth observation systems. Xoople characterizes its platform as "Earth's System of Record" for tracking physical world changes.
L3Harris Technologies is a defense technology company, while Xoople focuses on AI data infrastructure for monitoring physical changes on Earth. The partnership represents the companies' entry into the growing market for satellite-based data services supporting AI applications.
