Republic Services opens expanded recycling facility in Massachusetts

Republic Services Inc. (NYSE: RSG) opened its upgraded Peabody Recycling Center in Massachusetts, featuring advanced technology designed to increase recycling capacity and support the state's waste reduction goals.
The 54,000-square-foot facility includes automated sorting equipment, AI-powered technology, enhanced safety systems, and expanded processing capacity of 35-40 tons of recyclables per hour. The center also features ballistic sorters, conveyor networks, eddy current separators and baling systems.
"The enhancements at the Peabody Recycling Center enable us to process more recyclables, divert more material from landfills and deliver cleaner commodities to end-users," said Kurt Lavery, Republic Services Market Vice President.
The facility is located at 109 Newbury Street in Peabody and will service communities throughout greater Boston. Community leaders and local officials attended the opening event, which included facility tours showcasing the equipment and recycling technology.
Republic Services provides environmental services including recycling, solid waste, special waste, hazardous waste and field services through its subsidiaries.
