TuHURA Biosciences Inc. (NASDAQ: HURA) appointed Amanda Garofalo as senior vice president of clinical operations, the Tampa-based immuno-oncology company announced.
Garofalo brings more than 20 years of experience in Phase I-IV drug and biologic development across the biotechnology sector. She will oversee day-to-day clinical operations and work with Craig Tendler, the company's medical officer.
"Her extensive experience across all stages of biotech drug development will greatly enhance our efforts as we continue to advance our clinical programs," said James Bianco, TuHURA's president and chief executive officer.
Garofalo joins TuHURA from Parabilis Medicines, where she supported enrollment and data activities for a $305 million Series F funding round. Previously, she served as head of oncology delivery at EMD Serono, managing a portfolio of more than 200 oncology clinical trials spanning Phase I-IV development.
At Arcus Biosciences, Garofalo directed three new investigational new drug submissions within 12 months, launching programs for anti-TIGIT, CD-73 inhibitor, and adenosine receptor antagonist treatments. She has also held positions at Indivior, Medimmune, and GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals.
Garofalo holds a Master of Science in Health Science with a focus in clinical research administration from George Washington University and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the College of William and Mary. She completed an advanced management program at The Wharton School of Business.
TuHURA is conducting a Phase 3 trial of its lead compound IFx-2.0 in combination with pembrolizumab for advanced Merkel Cell Carcinoma. The company also develops TBS-2025, a VISTA inhibiting antibody advancing to Phase 1b/2 development, which it acquired through its merger with Kineta Inc. in June 2025.
