Boeing (NYSE: BA) delivered the ViaSat-3 Flight 3 spacecraft to Viasat, the company announced. The satellite was built on Boeing's 702MP+ platform and integrated at the company's El Segundo, California facility.
The spacecraft will provide coverage for the Asia-Pacific region, targeting commercial mobility and defense customers in high-density markets. Boeing delivered the satellite to Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida, where teams will conduct pre-launch processing ahead of a SpaceX Falcon Heavy launch.
"ViaSat-3 F3 reflects the strength of Boeing's 702 family and our long-standing partnership with Viasat," said Ryan Reid, president of Boeing Satellite Systems International.
The 702MP+ platform was developed to support larger, power-intensive payloads while maintaining reliability. For the ViaSat-3 program, Boeing scaled the platform to accommodate larger solar arrays, higher-capacity batteries, upgraded electronics and deployable radiators for thermal management.
The platform uses all-electric propulsion and enhanced structural elements for precise pointing control despite the system's size. Boeing upgraded attitude-control performance to support the spacecraft's payload and reflector configuration.
ViaSat-3 F1 currently provides commercial airline connectivity, while VS-3 F2 is advancing toward service over the Americas. The F3 satellite will extend constellation coverage to Asia-Pacific, expanding connectivity options across the region.
Boeing and Viasat will jointly support launch operations in Florida. The delivery represents completion of Boeing's spacecraft production and integration work for the VS-3 F3 satellite.
