Voyager Technologies names retired Air Force Lt. Gen. as security VP

Voyager Technologies (NYSE: VOYG) appointed retired U.S. Air Force Lt. Gen. Joseph "Gus" Guastella as executive vice president of National Security, effective April 7, according to a company statement.

Guastella will support Starlab and Voyager with NASA's Commercial LEO Development program and national security stakeholders. Matt Kuta, president of Voyager, said Guastella's experience includes building Air Force budgets, leading multinational coalitions in combat, and integrating space capabilities into military operations.

During his 35-year military career, Guastella led a 28-nation coalition in air, space, and cyberspace campaigns across the Middle East, including Operation Inherent Resolve and Resolution Support in Afghanistan. As director of operations for Air Force Space Command, he led the integration of space capabilities into warfighting and developed the first concept of operations for space warfighting intelligence processes.

After military service, Guastella served as vice president and regional executive for Europe and the Middle East at Northrop Grumman, focusing on air, space and joint capabilities for allies and partners.

"Advancing national security by securing America's presence in low Earth orbit is a critical piece to ensuring the Department of War maintains the space-based capabilities the nation depends on," Guastella said in the statement.

The appointment comes as Voyager positions itself for future space station programs through its involvement in NASA's commercial space initiatives.
