Intel joins Terafab project with SpaceX, xAI and Tesla for chip production

Intel Corp. (NASDAQ: INTC) announced its participation in the Terafab project alongside SpaceX, xAI, and Tesla, according to a company statement on social media platform X.

The collaboration aims to advance silicon fabrication technology, with Intel contributing its chip design, fabrication, and packaging capabilities. The project targets production of 1 terawatt per year of compute capacity to support developments in artificial intelligence and robotics.

Intel stated that its experience in manufacturing ultra-high-performance chips at scale will support Terafab's objectives. The company also mentioned hosting Elon Musk at its facilities over the weekend.
