Evotec SE (NASDAQ: EVO) announced that its supervisory board has proposed the election of Dieter Weinand as chairman of the supervisory board at the company's June 11, 2026 annual general meeting.
Weinand would succeed Prof. Dr. Iris Löw-Friedrich, whose term as chairwoman will conclude at the end of the 2026 annual general meeting, according to a company statement.
Weinand currently serves on the boards of Replimune and Coya Therapeutics and chairs several private biotech companies. He previously served as a member of the board of management at Bayer AG and as president, CEO and chairman of Bayer Pharmaceuticals AG.
His pharmaceutical industry experience spans over 30 years across companies including Pfizer, Bristol Myers Squibb and Sanofi, with leadership roles in the Asia-Pacific region, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Latin America and the United States. He holds an M.S. in pharmacology and toxicology from Long Island University and a B.A. in biology from Concordia College.
"Dieter is an outstanding choice for Chairman as we continue to transform Evotec into a more efficient, focused and sustainably profitable company," said Dr. Christian Wojczewski, chief executive officer of Evotec.
Weinand stated he would reduce his current board positions to comply with section C.5 of the German Corporate Governance Code and ensure adequate time for the Evotec role.
The Hamburg-based life science company operates with more than 4,800 employees across sites in Europe and the United States, focusing on drug discovery and development services for pharmaceutical companies.
