Broadcom Inc. (NASDAQ: AVGO) announced it has entered into agreements with Google LLC to develop and supply custom Tensor Processing Units for future TPU generations and provide networking components for Google's AI infrastructure through 2031.
Under the long-term agreement, Broadcom will develop custom TPUs for Google's upcoming processor generations. A separate supply assurance agreement covers networking and other components for Google's next-generation AI racks.
The companies also expanded their collaboration with Anthropic PBC. Beginning in 2027, Anthropic will access approximately 3.5 gigawatts of next-generation TPU-based AI compute capacity through Broadcom, representing part of multiple gigawatts committed by Anthropic.
Anthropic's consumption of the expanded AI compute capacity depends on the company's continued commercial success, according to the announcement. The parties are in discussions with operational and financial partners regarding the deployment.
The agreements extend Broadcom's role in supplying components for Google's artificial intelligence infrastructure. TPUs are specialized processors designed for machine learning workloads.
