Outset Medical Inc. (NASDAQ: OM) announced the appointment of Derick Elliott as Executive Vice President of Commercial, effective immediately.
Elliott will oversee Outset's commercial organizations supporting acute, post-acute and home healthcare providers, reporting to Chair and CEO Leslie Trigg. The medical technology company develops dialysis technology designed to reduce cost and complexity in treatment delivery.
Elliott brings more than 30 years of sales and marketing experience from roles at Stryker, Cardinal Health and SpendMend. At SpendMend, a private company, he served as Chief Commercial Officer and implemented commercial strategies using software, technology and services platforms for acute-care providers.
During his 17-year tenure at Stryker, Elliott held sales and marketing positions of increasing responsibility, most recently serving as Vice President of Customer Solutions. He previously spent more than 10 years in sales and marketing roles in Cardinal Health's Medical Products segment.
"Derick joins Outset at an ideal time as we expand our differentiated offering with new technology and services, and build on an already established base of clinical, operational and financial evidence," said Trigg in a statement.
Elliott holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in finance from the University of Colorado Boulder.
Outset's Tablo Hemodialysis System is FDA-cleared for use from hospital to home and is used by more than 1,000 U.S. healthcare facilities, according to the company's statement.
