Socket Mobile Inc. (NASDAQ: SCKT) announced that Shopify platform version 11.0.0 now supports the company's SocketScan S721 and S741 barcode scanners. The integration enables Shopify merchants to use Socket Mobile's Bluetooth Low Energy scanning technology for data capture applications.
The compatibility update incorporates Socket Mobile's CaptureSDK, allowing merchants to integrate both scanner models into retail point-of-sale systems, inventory management, and ID verification processes. The scanners utilize wireless connectivity and are designed for extended battery operation.
The SocketScan S721 captures 1D and 2D barcodes across various sizes and formats, with extended scanning range capabilities. The S741 model includes enhanced performance features for reading small, dense, and damaged barcodes, and supports OCR formats for passports and driver's licenses, enabling age verification and identity validation functions.
"Expanding support within the Shopify ecosystem is an important step for our customers and partners," said Dave Holmes, Chief Business Officer at Socket Mobile. "With the addition of the S721 and S741, Shopify merchants can take advantage of our latest Bluetooth Low Energy scanning technology to improve reliability, maintain consistent wireless performance throughout the day, and support a broader range of scanning applications, including ID verification."
Both scanner models are compatible with Socket Mobile's CaptureSDK, which the company states is supported by over 1,000 business applications. The SocketScan S721 is available at $199 MSRP and the S741 at $249 MSRP through Socket Mobile's website.
