Lucid Group Inc. (NASDAQ: LCID) announced that its Gravity SUV received the 2026 World Luxury Car of the Year award from the World Car Awards program. The all-electric SUV was selected by a jury of more than 100 automotive journalists globally from a category that included electric, hybrid, and internal-combustion vehicles.
This marks the second time Lucid has won this award category, following the Lucid Air sedan's recognition as World Luxury Car of the Year in 2023. The World Car Awards program is in its 22nd year.
"This recognition reflects the strength of Lucid's product vision and the exceptional execution of our team," said Marc Winterhoff, Interim CEO of Lucid, according to the company's press release.
The Gravity SUV features two motors, all-wheel drive, and standard adjustable air suspension. The vehicle includes an available rear-axle steering system and seats up to seven adults. Lucid states the SUV offers up to 450 miles of EPA-estimated driving range and DC fast-charging capability that can add 200 miles of range in less than 11 minutes.
The Gravity will be displayed at the 2026 New York International Auto Show from April 3-12, where attendees can test drive the vehicle on the show's EV test track. The SUV is available for order through the company's website.
Lucid designs and manufactures its vehicles at facilities in Arizona and Saudi Arabia. The Newark, California-based company develops what it describes as software-defined vehicle architectures for the premium automotive market segments.
