Iran's Araqchi says received messages from US envoy but denies negotiations
Investing.com -- Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said Tuesday he has been receiving direct messages from U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff, but clarified these communications do not constitute negotiations, according to Qatar's Al Jazeera TV.
Araqchi described the messages as including threats or exchanged views delivered through intermediaries he referred to as "friends."
The Iranian foreign minister also stated that Tehran is ready for any ground confrontation, Al Jazeera reported.
Regarding regional relations, Araqchi acknowledged there will be difficulties in rebuilding trust with neighboring countries in the future, but expressed confidence that Iran will succeed in doing so.
