New Fortress Energy Inc. (NASDAQ: NFE) announced that its Brazil platform entered into a long-term lease and capacity agreement for its Terminal de Gás Sul LNG import terminal in Santa Catarina, Brazil. The agreement is expected to commence in August 2026.
The company stated the agreement represents the commercialization of TGS and is projected to generate $50 million in annual EBITDA by 2027. TGS is positioned as an LNG import terminal providing natural gas access for power generation in southern Brazil.
"This agreement delivers immediate, contracted cash flow and highlights the strategic value of our infrastructure platform in Brazil," said Leandro Cunha, Managing Director of New Fortress Energy Brazil.
The terminal will supply the company's UTE Lins 2 power project, which received a capacity award from Brazil's recent auction and is expected to begin operations in 2031.
New Fortress Energy operates natural gas and LNG infrastructure globally, along with an integrated fleet of ships and logistics assets. The information is based on a company press release statement.
