Oracle (NYSE: ORCL) announced the Defense Industrial Base Isolated Cloud Environment, a secure cloud deployment option designed for defense contractors working on classified programs. The new service enables multiple defense contractors to collaborate on joint classified programs within air-gapped Oracle National Security Regions.
The cloud environment supports work at Secret and Top Secret classification levels while maintaining compliance with Department of Defense security standards. Defense contractors can expand their existing classified research and development environments into Oracle's cloud infrastructure while respecting the boundaries of the Secret Internet Protocol Router Network and Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communications System.
The service provides access to cloud-native capabilities including AI models, high-performance computing, and autonomous database services within classified environments. Oracle states the platform offers predictable pricing across classification levels and real-time collaboration capabilities to reduce program execution timelines.
"The Defense Industrial Base Isolated Cloud Environment represents our unwavering commitment to both the Department of War and its partners who develop the combat systems that protect our nation and support our warfighters worldwide," said Kim Lynch, executive vice president of Government, Defense & Intelligence at Oracle.
The cloud option is undergoing security evaluation, including third-party assessment organization review and penetration testing, for Department of Defense accreditation. Oracle expects to receive provisional authorization to operate at the Secret classification level by summer 2026, with Top Secret authorization following later.
Oracle made the announcement at the Oracle Federal Forum in Washington on March 31, 2026, according to a company press release.
