Syntax Data announced a partnership with MSCI Inc. (NYSE: MSCI) to integrate MSCI's American Depositary Receipt indexes into the Syntax Direct platform. The collaboration will provide financial advisers access to international equity exposure through U.S.-listed securities.
The partnership includes nine MSCI ADR indexes that will serve as starting universes and benchmarks for creating custom indexed-portfolio strategies. These indexes cover global markets including the MSCI ACWI ADR Index, MSCI World ADR Index, MSCI EAFE Expanded ADR Index, and MSCI EM ADR Index, among others.
MSCI's ADR indexes provide coverage of approximately 90% of global markets according to company research as of June 30, 2025. The indexes allow investors to implement global investment strategies while operating within U.S. market infrastructure.
"This collaboration represents a significant milestone in democratizing global market access for financial advisers and their clients," said Bruce Traan, President and COO of Syntax Indices.
Paul Riccardella, Head of Americas Wealth Indexed Investment Coverage at MSCI, stated the partnership reflects the company's commitment to providing solutions for financial advisers. He noted that MSCI's ADR indexes offer diversification benefits through U.S.-listed securities.
As part of the strategic collaboration, MSCI will provide distribution support for the wealth management community and help Syntax expand into the independent registered investment adviser channel.
Syntax Data operates through three segments: Affinity Data, Syntax Direct, and Syntax Indices. The company provides data solutions for index development and portfolio customization using its patented Functional Information System technology.
