Skillsoft adds cybersecurity CEO Art Gilliland to board

Skillsoft (NYSE: SKIL) announced that Art Gilliland joined its board of directors effective March 25, 2026, according to a company statement.
Gilliland serves as chief executive officer of Delinea, an identity security company. He brings more than 25 years of experience in enterprise software and cybersecurity businesses, including previous leadership roles at Broadcom's Symantec Enterprise Division, Skyport Systems, HP, and Symantec.
At Broadcom, Gilliland oversaw integration and operations following the Symantec acquisition as senior vice president and general manager. Before that role, he served as president and CEO of Skyport Systems, a managed secure infrastructure provider that Cisco Systems acquired.
"Art is a proven CEO with deep expertise across cybersecurity, enterprise software, and AI, bringing a unique combination of leadership and technical perspective that aligns closely with where we are taking Skillsoft," said Ron Hovsepian, Skillsoft's chief executive officer and executive chairman.
Gilliland holds several patents in security and has served on the boards of OneSpan (OSPN) and Gigamon. He earned a bachelor's degree in economics from Carleton College and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Skillsoft operates an AI-based skills management platform and serves thousands of organizations worldwide, including 60% of the Fortune 1000 companies, supporting more than 105 million learners globally.
