Voyager Technologies wins contract to manage Icarus robotics mission

Voyager Technologies (NYSE: VOYG) announced it received a mission management contract with Icarus Robotics to test the startup's free-flying robotic platform aboard the International Space Station.

Under the agreement, Voyager will handle payload integration, safety certification, launch coordination, on-orbit operations planning and real-time mission execution support for the demonstration. The company states it has managed more than 1,400 missions for government and commercial customers.

Icarus Robotics, founded in 2024 and based in New York City, developed the Joyride robotic platform designed for autonomous navigation in space environments. The demonstration is scheduled for early 2027 and will test the platform's autonomous navigation, maneuverability and operational performance in the space station environment.

Icarus Robotics co-founder Ethan Barajas previously participated in Voyager's NASA HUNCH program during high school. "Voyager handed me my first real look at spaceflight through HUNCH," Barajas said. "It is very full circle to return the favor and deliver a robotic platform to help make the ISS and future commercial stations like Starlab smarter."
